You don't realize how much your teeth affect your life… until they stop you from living it.

Tasha Tennant from Austin, Texas had dealt with dental issues for most of her life. It wasn't just about how her smile looked it was about how she felt, what she could eat, and how long she could keep pushing through discomfort before something finally gave.

We sat down with Tasha to hear her story.

TRYBE: When did your dental issues begin?

TASHA:

"So I've had dental issues almost all my life. I knocked my two front teeth out when I was eight."

TRYBE: What made you finally take action?

TASHA: "At the end of October, I had my first surgery—was here for two weeks, went home and healed, and then I came back here [to complete treatment]."

TRYBE: What was it like to finally complete the work?

TASHA:

"To finally get the work done that I needed to get done, this is honestly—it's been life-changing for me. I no longer have to just constantly worry about how it's affecting my health, number one…and you know, what I can eat, what I can't eat."

It's just—it's truly life-changing. Dental issues can have such a profound impact on your life.

And to know that that's behind me… it's a really great feeling."

TASHA:

"I just—I mean, the doctors, I can't say enough good things about them. So kind and so patient.

There was a couple of times that, you know, when you're having all of your teeth removed, it's a big thing—and they just, they were with me every step of the way. And they were so kind to me. And they did such amazing work. So I'm just—I'm really thrilled."

TRYBE: What was your experience in Costa Rica like?

TASHA: "It's beautiful here. The weather is amazing. It's pretty hot in Texas, so this is a nice change. It's beautiful scenery. People are friendly."
