You don’t realize how dangerous eating can become… until every bite threatens your life.

Nona from Texas had reached a breaking point. She couldn’t chew properly. She couldn’t process food safely. One day, she nearly choked to death and would have died if her husband hadn’t performed the Heimlich maneuver.

Then a friend’s recommendation changed everything.

We sat down with Nona to hear her story.

TRYBE: What was your dental situation like before?

NONA: “I choked on [food] because I couldn’t chew it enough to process it and get it down and it would go down and choke. Had my husband not been there at the time to do the Heimlich maneuver and actually help me, I probably would have died.”

TRYBE: How has your life changed since treatment?

NONA: ” It was just so amazing how it changed my life. Just literally everything is healed and you can eat whatever you want to eat. I mean I’m back to eating everything. I can eat nuts again. I can eat meat again and then just having a beautiful smile. I mean actually having beautiful teeth that are not cracking, that you won’t smile. “

“It was just so amazing how it changed my life. Literally.”

TRYBE: What do you want people to know about your experience?

NONA: People would be like, “You have beautiful teeth.” [And I would say], “Thank you. But they’re not real.” And they’re like, “What? Girl, I wouldn’t even tell nobody.” I’m like, No, I want people to know because it’s changed my life so much that I want people to know how much it’s changed. It takes time to heal but [you’re going] to love it afterwards.”

“I would come to Costa Rica with any of my friends to get it done just to help them through the process.”

This isn’t just Nona’s story. It could be yours.

If you’ve lived with dental issues that affect your ability to eat, smile, or live without fear, TRYBE might be the place to start.
