Chronic Ear Pain Gone After Dental Surgery – Linda’s Testimonial

Editor’s Note: This interview has been lightly edited for clarity while preserving the patient’s authentic voice and story.

Linda is a healthcare provider with 52 years of experience. She traveled from Texas to Escazú, Costa Rica for biological dental treatment with Dr. Fernandez and Dr. Mora.

Tell us a little about yourself.

I’m Linda. I came from Texas. I’ve been a healthcare provider for 52 years. I’m obviously the boomer generation.

How did this all start?

Growing up, we got a lot of mercury metal fillings. Before college, after college, more fillings. Then crowns. Metal crowns. And over time, I developed autoimmune disease and a lot of illness I felt was connected to my dental work. I knew it. I just couldn’t prove it.

Unfortunately in the US, food quality has declined too, so even with good nutrition and dental care, my teeth started to decay and have problems.

How did you find biological dentistry?

I started reading about it, but in the US, very few dentists work with ceramics. And the ones you asked would say, “No, you don’t want ceramics.” They weren’t well understood.

At some point, I heard a podcast where a woman had come here specifically to see Dr. Fernandez and Dr. Mora. That really began my journey. I understand the energy that comes from your teeth and how it affects the entire physiology of the body. So I knew right away, this was my next step.

Walk us through the process.

Five months ago, I came for an initial workup. They did a panoramic X-ray of my entire mouth. Dr. Fernandez showed me everything and explained what needed to be done. I actually received that information before I arrived, so I had the full picture going in.

I arrived the day before my appointment. Surgery was the next day. Dr. Fernandez performed almost five hours of surgery. I had cavitations where my wisdom teeth had been removed, and 11 teeth were taken out total.

How was the recovery?

That’s the part people don’t expect. There was very little pain. I took Advil. That’s it. For five hours of surgery.

I stayed four to five more days. They did a follow-up visit before I left.

Did you notice any changes after the surgery?

Yes, and this was the most interesting part. I had a chronic ear condition, what you’d call swimmer’s ear. It was always irritated. I had been going to doctors, medical schools, specialists for years. Nobody could treat it.

Within a month of the surgery, it was gone.

That’s the connection most people miss. Your teeth, your jaw, your overall health. All connected. The body responded once the dental issues were addressed.

You came back for a second visit?

Four to six months later, yes. You want to confirm the bone grafts worked and the implants are solid. I came back on a Sunday, saw Dr. Mora on Monday. Quick process. They made sample teeth, let me view them, pick a color.

Today, 30 minutes before this video, I had my final teeth cemented in. Brand new.

What makes this different from dentistry in the US?

The whole approach. It’s evidence-based, but also integrated. They have a physician on staff who can test you and treat you with nutraceuticals if needed. That kind of precision, connected to dentistry, you’re not finding that in the US right now.

I don’t know where a regular dentist would have done all of these things. Much less an entire practice built around it.

What about the experience in Costa Rica itself?

Escazú is beautiful, very safe. I talked to three or four women who came by themselves and had no issues. I brought family members.

The doctors, the nurses, the technicians are superb. And the warmth is real. When’s the last time your dentist hugged you the first time you met them?

It feels like family.

What’s your message to others?

Don’t wait. Don’t put off your dental health.

I told Dr. Mora I need 25 more years. He said, “Just 25?”

Playful and fun, but very, very good at what they do.
